The Silva Collection

The Silva Collection is a series of woven outdoor furniture which embraces the raw and minimally processed qualities of hazel. Jasmine drew her inspiration from the endangered craft of hazel basket making, repurposing the traditional method of using split hazel weavers to create a stool, bench, and a chair. Through this approach, she aimed to revive and reinterpret the age-old technique, giving this methodology a new relevance in today’s material culture.

Jasmine wanted to develop a new design language for lightweight outdoor furniture that celebrates natural materials while upholding quality and craftsmanship. Her innovative use of woven hazel, in the way that she has developed it, has never been done before.

Inspired by Soft Minimalism, the Serene Table Lamp combines ash / walnut oak, brass and linen to create a striking textural contrast. The warm, dimmable, diffused glow illuminates the materials and creates a calming ambiance. Designed with sustainability in mind, the lamp is easily disassembled for repair or recycling.

Inspired by Ergonomics in creating functional flatware that feels good but also looks good.

Elegant, Timeless, Functional

For this project, the brief was  to design a product out of cork for the Baltic Museum’s gift shop. As cork is heat resistant up to 200°c, I decided to go down the candle holder route and I designed food inspired candle holders. Here we have a slice of pizza, a piece of cheese and a croissant !
